PH Measuring Strips Blemastrip for measuring acids and bases in the urine. Most processes that sustain life take place in a basic environment. On the other hand, degradation processes take place in an acid environment. Just think of trees that die because of acid rain. In the body, the stomach and lysosomes are actually the only places where an acidic environment exists to allow food breakdown. To maintain life functions, an alkaline (basic) environment must always exist in the blood and cells. With these pH measuring strips you can easily determine the acidity of urine and saliva yourself. Use: Tear a test strip from the block. Hold the test strip in a urine stream for approx. 1-2 seconds. Compare the strip with the color scale and determine the corresponding pH value. Record the measured value in the table. Use each strip only once. If you use the strips to measure the acidity of saliva, do not put the strips in your mouth. The color substances on the strip are not suitable for this.
