Technical rescue clothing

DISCOVER THE EXCEPTIONAL PROPERTIES

The ultimate multifunctional clothing designed for technical support providers

Every day, fire service personnel are exposed to highly varied situations and risks. Often, they must give 120% to their job in heavy weather and wind. And without losing sight of the safety of themselves and others.

The new series ensure that fire service personnel can carry out their work comfortably and safely in every situation.

INVISIBLE PROTECTION AGAINST HEAT AND FLAMES

The revolutionary, self-extinguishing properties of the GORE-TEX PYRAD® fibre ensure that waterproof clothing retains its physical properties even after direct exposure to flames or flame arcs.

The fibre provides invisible protection compared to other flame-retardant textiles such as Modacryl/cotton or flame-retardant polyester.

WORK COMFORTABLY IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS

GORE® PYRAD® is characterised by:

  •  better waterproofing
  • improved breathability
  • lower water absorbency
  • rapid drying time
  • better visibility

than other flame-retardant products on the market.

The norms which indicate the waterproof and breathable qualities of an item of clothing recently changed. A fourth category was added and the ‘water column’ test is now conducted too.The GORE® PYRAD® fibre scored the maximum points on this and achieved the EN 4-4-R classification.

Furthermore, the fabric is incredibly light: the parka size L weighs just 1,225 grams. That is no less than 45% lighter than the usual parkas with flame-arc category 2 on the market.

The cause of this often lies with the exterior layer of the clothing. Flame-retardant clothing is often made using Modacryl. This fibre absorbs water, making the clothing very heavy when used in damp or rainy conditions. This may seem like a small detail but when you consider all your other PPE and tools, this weight can make a huge difference.

LONG LIFE-SPAN

The GORE® PYRAD® fibre is easy to clean and maintain. It can be washed at least 25 times at 60 °C without losing any of its protective properties. Our experience with this fibre (since 2012) has taught us that the product lasts up to 2.5 times longer than other, similar items on the market. Wearers really value the comfort level, so take great care of the clothing. End up with a tear? It can be repaired with a DIY repair kit. The clothing does not have to be replaced and can be worn again immediately. In short, it’s a very worthwhile investment.
