4. Don't forget to replace your filters regularly

Respiratory filters do not last forever. Replacing them on time is essential to ensure they continue to perform effectively.

• Gas and vapour filters will allow contaminants to pass through once their capacity has been exhausted. At that point they provide no protection.
• Particulate filters continue to protect after becoming saturated, but they may become clogged. This makes breathing more difficult and can result in fatigue and reduced productivity.

Filter service life is influenced by several factors:

• filter type;
• airborne contaminant concentration;
• breathing rate;
• humidity;
• temperature.

The best approach is to implement a filter replacement schedule that specifies when filters should be replaced.
